The Colonnade
The Colonnade Kitchen project, designed by Jennifer Koch of Jennifer Austin Design, is a bright, mid-century coastal kitchen that also serves as a dining room. Given the small footprint of the house, this space was transformed into a multifunctional area brimming with character and bold pops of blue. The kitchen immediately captures attention upon entering the home, with BlueStar appliances serving as the focal point. The 36” Nova Series Range and PRO Built-In Fridge with French doors, both in a stunning Pastel Blue with Brushed Brass Trim, anchor the design and bring a vibrant energy to the room.
The project’s design was influenced by the client’s love for mid-century coastal themes and their desire for a bright, inviting atmosphere. The design incorporates painted white cabinets accented with white oak, perfectly complemented by a walnut dining table with a brass base. This combination ties the space together, blending luxury and functionality. Despite the kitchen’s challenging triangular shape, the design cleverly squares off cabinetry where possible, creating a more balanced layout. The addition of a banquette with channel tufting and a hidden washer/dryer unit further emphasizes the room’s multifunctional purpose without compromising its aesthetics.
