Pleasant Valley Home

The Pleasant Valley Home project, designed by Mika Frechette of Stoneledge Farm + Home, is a stunning Vermont farmhouse renovation that transforms the space into a bright, open kitchen, perfect for family gatherings and shared meals. The design achieves a seamless harmony by matching the custom “almost, barely” robin’s egg blue cabinetry with the 48” BlueStar Platinum Series range, which features a stainless steel base and elegant brass detailing.

This renovation was particularly meaningful, as it was for a family that lost their home in a California fire. The project began during COVID-19, with the design and construction carried out before the clients could even visit their new home in Southern Vermont. This kitchen is a gable-end addition to the existing farmhouse, where natural light plays a central role in the design. The expansive 10’ x 8’ window on the kitchen’s gable end floods the space with light, beautifully illuminating the pickled ash ceilings and creamy white walls. Montclair Danby marble extends from the counter to the ceiling, adding a dramatic yet refined touch, while the brass fixtures and suspension open shelving enhance the kitchen’s bespoke character.

The color palette was carefully chosen to create a bright atmosphere without resorting to typical white tones. The clients desired a scheme that was more vibrant than taupe but still carried an earth-tone warmth, which was achieved through the custom cabinetry and marble choices.
